Message and discovered that I'm now the proud owner of a slipping clutch. I couldn't believe my ears. Guy starts to wind out 4th gear and I hear a BRAP sound around 4000 that I had never heard before. Look at the dyno sheet and the numbers say 358 hp. I'm thinking that's 20 less than I made before the dual pops and FMIC. Could I be heading in the wrong direction here??? Guy tells me he thinks the clutch is slipping. I'm thinking to myself it's a 10k mile JWT Street clutch that has not been driven too hard. That can't be the problem. Run the car again and the same sound, this time making even less power than before.

Here is the weird thing. I've never felt/heard anything like I did today. I boost the car to 16-18psi 20 times a day in 3rd and 4th gear and never hear/feel slipping. We put a few guys in the trunk on the last run to make sure it wasn't the tires slipping on the rollers. Not the case I'm afraid.

Could I have air in the system that is causing the pedal to not fully disengage when hot? Am I making more power than I did last month that is causing this to happen? Car did not slip at all back in January after I installed the test pipes and picked up 12 hp. Same dyno was used both times and conditions were almost identical. Spoke with a few JWT Street clutch owners that said they have many more miles on their cars with similar/more mods. This clutch should be able to handle this easily I would think, right?

Anyone run through a clutch sooner than they expected or have any idea what might be going on? I also have a Fidanza flywheel on the car. I do not beat on this clutch from a start. no 5,000 dumps or burn outs. However, once the clutch is engaged I do like to run through the gears like any other performance nut.

Thanks in advance,
James
